Hi! 👋🏽 It’s been quite a few years since I’ve introduced myself here, so I figured it was time for a little reintroduction.
I’m Nila, a photographer in Whitby, Ontario. I grew up in Toronto and just recently moved to Whitby, so a lot of the recent posts you’ve been seeing (and will likely continue to see) is just me exploring this new area!
I have been photographing since 2011 and have experimented with a variety of subjects, from portraits, events, ethical fashion, etc. But I’ve always had a huge love for the natural world, since as young as I can remember. So now I do what I love most — nature & wildlife photography.
Eventually, I hope to be able to call myself a conservation photographer and share the important stories of conservation around the world. I’m working on becoming a better storyteller through my photography.
In my day job, I handle digital media at the Nature Conservancy of Canada, an amazing nature conservation organization that I’m so grateful to be apart of.
Some other things I love:
- Harry Potter
- True crime documentaries
- Animals (especially cats)
- Travelling & exploring new places
- Being creative in any form, whether it be painting, drawing, photography, DIY projects, etc. I love experimenting and trying new things.
- and of course, my family and friends.
Thank you to all of you for your support over the years, and for following along on this journey. I hope you’re all staying safe during these unprecedented times, and hopefully, soon, we can all get back out there and explore a new way of living life sustainably, alongside the natural world.
