On Day 4 of our trip, we were on our way to Leon.
Leon is the second largest city of Nicaragua, and has the most churches per capita in Nicaragua. It’s where the revolution started – pro sandinista. The city used to be all cobblestone roads, and although many have been replaced with roads, there are still some sections that are trying to be maintained.
The city had a very colourful, yet European feel too it. It was the most beautiful city we visited during the trip in my opinion.

The following images are from the Basilica Catedral de la Asuncion (Our Lady of Grace Cathedral) in Leon. This church is considered a cultural landmark, and was awarded World Heritage Site status with UNESCO.

After touring the cathedral, I may have had a little too much fun with all the pigeons down below! :p Below are some of my fave shots.
